Think Local, Act Local

The following set of pages deals with Local and Global Coherence, an aspect of cognitive functioning concerning the balance between detail and gestalt, a critical factor for a musician who deals daily with melodic and harmonic structure as well as the moment by moment experience of sonics. This section contains explorations of the current thinking on the mechanisms of strong Local Coherence in autism, and reflections on its impact on my own musical processes and daily life.
